Welcome to Finance, Budgeting and Procurement department. The department is committed to delivering customer- focused financial services. It also values team work within the University and embrace customer care approach in handling our internal and external clients.
The department supports the University in accomplishing its goals through the planning and allocation of financial and physical resources. It also provides financial reports to the University Governing Council to enhance University decision making, planning and policy formulation in adherence to the University charter and statutes.

Department Functions
Functions include management of the University’s financial resources, coordination and control of budgets, management of the investment portfolio, preparation of financial reports and statements, coordination of external audits, advising the Chief Accounting Officer on financial matters, liaising with relevant stakeholders such as banks and Kenya Revenue Authority, interpret, implement, and enforce the University procurement policy, provide advice to the University on all matters relating to procurement, coordinate the preparation of annual consolidated procurement and disposal plans by all units of the University.
Other functions include prepare, publish and distribute procurement and disposal opportunities including invitations to tender, pre-qualification documents and invitations for expressions of Interest, monitor contract management by user departments to ensure implementation of contracts in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts; report any significant departures from the terms and conditions of the contract to the Accounting Officer, purchase all goods and services for use in such a manner that maximum value will be obtained for the money expended, expedite deliveries of undelivered orders, services, materials, equipment requisitioned, and follow up with vendors on overdue materials, services and equipment and secretariat to the Procurement Committee.
